Thursday 23rd January 2020 also saw the Pudsey Trophy – a 3 round colour print competition draw to a conclusion.
Seven members entered images in one or more rounds of this competition, with four members completing all three rounds.
The first round, judged by Nigel Plant was a closely fought affair, but saw Kirsty achieve a 20, for “Sandracers” giving her first place with 52 points, and a 1 point advantage over Larry in 2nd on 51 points. Gillian Johnstone and David Howson tied for 3rd place on 49 points. Congratulations to Gillian on her first print entries.
The second round, judged by Peter Wells saw a 20 for Larry, for “Erica Dances” and a 20 for Kirsty for “Female Stonechat”. Kirsty won the night with 57 points, Larry coming second with 52 and Rodney third with 50. The cumulative scores now stood at 109 to Kirsty, 103 to Larry, 97 to David Howson and 96 to Rodney.
The third and final round was judged by Monty Trent, and it was good to see some of our new members putting prints into this round. Peter Walker again achieved a 20, for “Yuk Lo”, Larry achieved a 20 for “Damsel in distressed” (unfortunately this image is NSFW so won’t feature on the blog) and David Howson a 20 for “House sparrow (female) in decline” (unfortunately I don’t have digital copy at time of writing). The winner of this round was Larry, on 56 points. In 2nd place was David Howson with 55 points and Kirsty was 3rd with 54 points.
The final cumulative scores saw Kirsty hold on to her early lead.
- 1st Kirsty McLeod – 163 points
- 2nd Larry Walker on 159 points and
- 3rd was David Howson on 152 points.
