Our programme
What happens at Pudsey Camera Club?
From September to April, Pudsey Camera Club meets every Thursday evening for a varied programme of photography talks, competitions and practical sessions.
Our meetings are an opportunity to learn new techniques, share photographs, gain constructive feedback and enjoy photography with fellow enthusiasts. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, there’s always something new to discover.
Club Nights
Club nights are the backbone of Pudsey Camera Club, bringing members together every Thursday for an enjoyable evening of photography and friendship. We meet at 7:30 pm at Pudsey Library for a varied programme that includes guest speakers, club competitions and practical photography sessions. Competitions
Pudsey Camera Club runs a range of photography competitions throughout the season, giving members the opportunity to share their work and develop their skills. Our competitions are judged by external judges, who provide feedback and constructive advice to help members improve their photography. Whether you enjoy a friendly challenge or want to try something new, competitions are a great way to learn, gain confidence and see how others approach their images. Exhibitions
Pudsey Camera Club periodically organises an annual exhibition showcasing members’ photography, giving them the opportunity to share their work with the wider community. Historically, our exhibition has been held at Pudsey Community Hub. As an affiliated club, our members can also submit photographs for consideration for the annual Yorkshire Photographic Union (YPU) exhibition, providing another opportunity to have their work displayed. Membership of an affiliated camera club also opens the door to national open photographic exhibitions held throughout the country. Success in eligible exhibitions can contribute towards British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE) Crown Awards, giving ambitious photographers a further goal to work towards.
Inter-Club Competitions
Pudsey Camera Club is a member of the Inter-Club Colour Group, which brings together photography clubs from across Yorkshire for a friendly but challenging inter-club competition. The competition takes place over four rounds, with up to twelve clubs taking part. Each round includes photographs on a subject chosen by the hosting club, a rotating theme and three open-choice images. It gives our members the opportunity to showcase their photography alongside work from other clubs, discover different creative approaches and enjoy the challenge of competing at a wider level.
