About Us

History

Our story starts way back in 1962.

Pudsey Camera Club started life back in 1962 as the Pudsey Photographic Society, as a place for local photography enthusiasts to meet and enjoy their love of photography. As the club grew it started running regular competition using 35mm slides and prints many of which were printed by the members using their home darkrooms.

1988 saw the club change its name to the Pudsey Camera Club however this is not the only change the club has seen over last 50 years. While we continue with competitions of projected images and prints,  the last 15 years or so has seen a move away from traditional film photography.  35mm slides have been replace by Digital Projected Images and prints are now mainly printed using state of the digital printers as opposed to in darkrooms.

We are affiliated to PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) through the YPU ( Yorkshire Photographic Union) this give us access to a panels of Judges from the 3 Ridings of Yorkshire to come and judge our competitions.

Pudsey Camera Club is also an active member of the Inter-Club Colour Group, where clubs across the Yorkshire Region compete directly again each other.
