Round 2 of the Interclub Colour Group Competition was held on Saturday 18th November, hosted by Cookridge Camera Club. The judge for this round was Jonathan Neale. It was another closely fought evening – Pudsey started off by bringing forward a place of 2nd equal after Round 1, but by the end of the night we had managed to claim a solo spot of 2nd!
The set subject for this round was “Negative Space” and Kirsty’s image of “Eagle in the Rainforest” scored a respectable 18.

The set theme was “Record” and Paul’s image “The Old Timeclock” went one better and scored 19.

First up in the general rounds was Pete Walker’s “Yui” and the judge loved this – our first (and only) 20 of the night – well done Pete!

Next came Larry Walker’s image of “Nausicaa on the Box” and the judge said he was puzzled by what a “Nausicaa” was… er… it’s the model? Oh well. This sadly only scored 17. Our final image was by Claire Marshall – “Bedraggled Red Grouse” and the judge complimented the handling of both rain and colour, awarding another 19.

Otley Camera Club stormed away with the night, scoring three 20’s and finishing on a score of 98. Cookridge were 2nd on 96 and Pudsey 3rd with 93. However, due to a churn in which club scored well, we finished with a cumulative score of 185, only 2 points behind the new leaders, Otley CC on 187. Huddersfield, the first round leaders, dropped to third place on 184.
Still all to play for, and still really close! The next round is in March, hosted by Leeds Photographic Society. The set Subject is Movement and the set Theme is Still Life – so plenty of time to get out with your cameras!
