Thursday 5th February
Thursday 5th February saw the final round of our Annual 3-Round Print and Digital Image Competition, and we were delighted to welcome back popular judge Colin Williams CPAGB, EFIAP, BPE2* to cast his expert eye over the entries.
The previous two rounds had already set an exceptionally high standard, so anticipation was high going into the evening — and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Colin commented on how much he had enjoyed reviewing the work, noting that distinctive personal styles were clearly emerging, with authors confidently expressing their individual photographic voices.
Remarkably, the evening produced no fewer than eight images awarded the maximum 20 marks — a testament to the quality on display.

A Season to Be Proud Of
As mentioned in previous reports, the standard of competition this year has been outstanding. The consistency, creativity and individuality on show demonstrate that the club is in excellent health, and I for one am excited to see what next year’s competition will bring.
Coming Up Next…
On Thursday 19th February, we welcome Claire Carter via Zoom for a presentation on Studio Botanical Photography, which promises to be both inspiring and informative.
And we’re not quite finished with competitions yet — we still have:
- The final round of the Interclub Competition
- The Michael Diffley Digital Competition
to look forward to in March and April.
Plenty more photography to come!
