Judge: Nigel Plant (Hebden Bridge Camera Club)
The first round of Pudsey Camera Club’s annual three-part competition delivered one of the strongest evenings of photography the club has seen since returning from the two-year COVID break. With 14 authors submitting across three open categories — Digital Images, Colour Prints, and Monochrome Prints — the quality of work made for an exciting start to the 2025–26 season.
We were delighted to welcome back Nigel Plant, a favourite judge at Pudsey. Nigel’s critiques were, as always, insightful and encouraging. He commented on the night that the overall standard was “extremely high,” and even suggested that some images may have been judged a little more harshly than usual simply because the field was so strong.

A Strong Start to the Season
This first round showcased some of the best work the club has seen since the COVID break, with both long-standing and new members raising the bar. The overall standard was exceptional, and Nigel’s feedback throughout the evening highlighted just how competitive this season may prove to be.
